PENGARUH METODE DICOVERY LEARNING BERBASIS DEEP LEARNING TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN MENULIS TEKS CERPEN SISWA KELAS X SMAN 1 CIHARA

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the discovery learning method based on deep learning on the short story writing skills of tenth-grade students at SMAN 1 Cihara. The study used a quantitative approach with an experimental design and a pretest-posttest comparison between an experimental group and a control group. The research report describes 70 students, consisting of 35 students in the experimental group and 35 students in the control group. Data were collected through short-story writing tests administered before and after the learning treatment. The experimental group’s mean score increased from 61.69 to 86.69, while the control group’s mean score increased from 62.91 to 72.91. The discussion chapter reports an independent-samples t-test value of -14.935 (df = 68; Sig. 2-tailed = 0.000), indicating a statistically significant difference between the groups. The findings suggest that discovery learning integrated with deep learning can support students’ short-story writing skills. The statistical and sampling details should be checked against the original SPSS output before journal submission.
