ANALISIS STRUKTUR DAN NILAI KEARIFAN LOKAL DALAM CERITA RAKYAT ASAL-USUL DESA CIMANDIRI SERTA PEMANFAATANNYA SEBAGAI BAHAN PEMBELAJARAN APRESIASI SASTRA DI SMA

Abstract

This study aims to describe the structure of the folklore Asal-usul Desa Cimandiri, identify the local wisdom values contained in the story, and explain its use as a learning material for literary appreciation at the senior high school level. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected through documentation of the story text and interviews with three informants, Abah Mastomi, Abah Ibra, and Jaro Pei, conducted in June 2026. Data analysis consisted of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the story has a complete intrinsic structure consisting of theme, characters and characterization, plot, setting, point of view, and moral message. Its main theme concerns the struggle to build communal life through togetherness, wise leadership, and environmental preservation. The plot is chronological and uses a third-person point of view. The local wisdom identified includes moral, social, cultural, and religious values. Moral values include responsibility, hard work, courage, and care; social values include mutual cooperation, deliberation, solidarity, and respect; cultural values include leadership, tradition, deliberation, and environmental preservation; while religious values include gratitude, prayer, trust in God, and awareness of nature as a divine trust. Based on linguistic, psychological, cultural-background, and curriculum-related considerations, the story is considered appropriate as supplementary reading or a handout for literary appreciation in senior high school.
